We would like to invite you to join us, Booray and Gary, at the first official photography workshop brought to you by the Photobomb Podcast. Our goal with INSIDExOUT is to provide photographers with real-world experience from two full-time, working pros in a relaxed, small-group setting.

The Concept

At the INSIDExOUT photography workshop, you will learn from two different specialists. Spend half a day with Gary Hughes, learning studio lighting and posing from one of the best working headshot and portrait photographers in the business. The other half of the day is outside with Booray Perry, using his years of experience shooting outdoor weddings and headshots to show you how to work in any environment and get great results every time. Afterward, get together for an evening of food, drinks, and hanging out with friends. Go even deeper by adding on an optional second day of business training with Gary in his studio. Learn marketing, pricing, SEO, and web design that will help you fill your calendar with raving clients.

Here's What You Need to Know

When Is this Happening?

The INSIDExOUT photography workshop is taking place on March 28th, 2022. Class starts at 9am. The optional second-day photography business workshop is on the 29th from 10am to 4pm.

Where is it?

We have secured a spot at the Aloft Hotel and Conference Center right smack in the middle of downtown Orlando, FL. If you haven’t been to Orlando in March, it’s pretty much the best time of year to visit. It’s also the perfect opportunity to visit with the family, hang with us for a day or two, and then take some time with your family and see all that Orlando has to offer. The Aloft Downtown Orlando is only 12 miles from Orlando International Airport. Uber rides from the airport to the hotel are around $25 each way.

How Much Does it Cost?

The one day photography workshop with Booray and Gary is $499 early bird pricing (before Feb. 1st) and $599 after. Add on the additional second day of business and marketing at Gary’s studio for $199 (limited to ten attendees). You can add on the second day when you sign up, just click the gold button below to sign up.

Where Do I Stay?

Here’s some good news: we have arranged an incredible group rate for our attendees at the Aloft Hotel and Conference Center Downtown Orlando, 12 miles from Orlando International Airport. It’s a newer, modern business traveler hotel that’s in the absolute center of downtown Orlando. Just about anything you could need is walking distance from the hotel and there are some very cool places to shoot near by. Staying at the host hotel is just the best option not only because you will be where all the action is, but also because you are going to have a hard time getting a nicer room in a better part of town for the price. To book your room, and get our group rate of only $169 per night,  CLICK HERE

For those attendees who are working professional photographers or aspire to be, you can add on the Photography Business Workshop for only $199. This includes a full day of business and marketing training at Gary’s studio in Winter Park. Attendance is limited to the first 10 people who want to go. This full day of training will include website and portfolio reviews, GoogleAds strategies, content and email marketing as well as pricing help.

The INSIDExOUT FAQ

What’s the deal with travel?

If you are planning on flying in, the best bet is Orlando International Airport (MCO). You can rent a car at the airport or you can take an Uber or Lyft to the hotel (12 miles away) for about $25 depending on the amount of demand for ride share. If you are driving in, the hotel has plenty of parking for $25 a day. Once you have reached the hotel, pretty much everything you could want is within walking distance in downtown Orlando. Downtown isn’t a tourist destination, so the prices for food, drinks, and supplies are pretty comparable to pretty much any other part of town.

What Should I Bring?

Besides your normal traveling items, plan on bringing light winter clothes. It cools down a lot this time of year in Orlando, but the temperatures rarely go below 60 degrees for long. It’s a good idea to bring your camera, an off camera flash, and a laptop if you plan on shooting. Remember that it doesn’t rain much in the “Winter” months in Orlando, and the sun is almost constant. Sunscreen and sun glasses are a must. Other than that, pack as you please.

What are you doing about Covid-19?

Obviously the pandemic is a big concern to most people and we want to be a part of the solution. We plan to abide by any regulations from the state, county, or the city and that may change as the event gets closer. We want to encourage our attendees to be respectful of all local guidelines, but we are not going to be the mask police. If you’re smart, you will make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling and partaking in group activities. If for some reason you can’t do that, please make sure to be respectful of others and grab a couple of home testing kits from the drug store ahead of time. IF the majority of attendees are vaccinated and/or have cleared a recent test, we  can enjoy ourselves while being as safe as possible.

What can I expect to learn?

Not only are you going to get a hands-on learning experience with two of the top educators in the photo industry, but you are going to experience that in a small classroom setting. The attendance is going to be capped at 30 people and class sizes will be 15. You are going to learn the technical aspects of lighting and posing in both the studio and on-location with various types of models and have the opportunity to shoot and put your skills in to practice. On top of that, you are going to get to hang out with the instructors and pick their brains as much as you want while forming relationships with the other attendees from all over the country.

Can I use the images I take for my portfolio?

In short, yes. If you are in need of portfolio to help you get your business going, you can use images from INSIDExOUT in your portfolio. Portfolio building, though, isn’t the primary function of the workshop. We will be mainly focused on teaching you the concepts you can use. Getting to shoot the scenes we create for you will be part of it, but if you are coming primarily for access to lights and models, you might end up being disappointed. We have all been to free-for-all shooting classes. Not only do they fall short as a way to learn new concepts, but you end up having the same images as everyone else, just from a slightly different angle. The best way to approach your shooting opportunities at INSIDExOUT is to think of it as a way of using the concepts you just learned immediately so that they stick with you. If you happen to get an image you want to use in your portfolio, go nuts.

What’s Included With the Price?

INSIDExOUT aims to be a unique, laid-back experience for every attendee that gives exceptional value for money. For the price of admission, you get a full day of training featuring a half-day class with each instructor going in to detail on their gear, processes, and techniques pertaining to their speciality. Small class sizes will insure that you get all the time and attention you need without distraction. At the end of the workshop day, there will be a cocktail reception and social get together with the attendees and instructors where drinks and food are included. You will also have the option to add a second day of photography business training for $199. Get the full schedule of events by clicking HERE.

What is covered in the extra day of business training?

As an added bonus, you will have the opportunity to register for an extra day of photography business training with Gary in his studio (you can add this on at checkout when you book the main workshop). As a leader in the industry, Gary is always on the forefront of marketing a photography business and is going to spend the day covering branding and marketing using social media, SEO, email, and Google Ads. This extra day is available on a first come-first served basis to 10 attendees and will also include portfolio and website reviews.
