SO WHAT HEADSHOTS DO YOU NEED?

One of the biggest misconceptions about actor headshots is that you need a huge variety of complicated looks to get started. In reality, most actors begin with two core headshots: commercial and theatrical. These two images form the foundation of most acting portfolios and help casting directors quickly understand your personality, casting type, and range.

COMMERCIAL HEADSHOTS

Commercial acting headshots tend to feel approachable and relatable. These images often used for commercials, lifestyle campaigns, and roles where casting directors are looking for warmth and trust.

THEATRICAL HEADSHOTS

Theatrical headshots are usually more grounded, dramatic, and emotionally specific. These images are designed to show depth, presence, and character while still feeling believable and authentic to who you are.

GREAT HEADSHOTS START WITH TRUST

Most actors are not professional models, and almost everyone feels nervous at first. We help guide expression, posture, wardrobe, and subtle coaching throughout the session so you can stop overthinking and focus on being present on camera.

The result is natural, confident headshots and an experience that feels collaborative, relaxed, and genuinely fun.

SOME OTHER QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE ABOUT ACTOR HEADSHOTS:

What kind of headshots do I need as an actor?

We work with aspiring actors getting their first professional headshots every week, and one of the biggest questions people have is what kind of images they actually need. The answer usually depends on what area of the industry you want to pursue, whether that is theater, commercials, or film and television.

For most actors building profiles on casting websites like Actors Access and Backstage, the foundation usually starts with two core headshots: commercial and theatrical. Commercial headshots tend to feel warmer and more approachable, while theatrical headshots are often more grounded, serious, and emotionally focused.

How many looks do I need for actor headshots?

We don’tcount the number of looks in a session because every actor’s needs are different. Some people need two strong looks, while others want more variety for casting websites, agents, or specific roles.

Newer actors often take a little more time to relax and get comfortable in front of the camera, while experienced actors may move faster. The goal is never to rush. It is to create strong, believable images that actually work for casting.

If you are working with an acting coach or agent, it is always helpful to ask what they recommend before your session.

Where does the session take place?

Located in Winter Park right off of the I-4 Fairbanks exit, we are only a 7-minute drive from downtown Orlando and easily accessible from any part of Central Florida. We offer in-studio photography on an appointment basis for our clients as well as location services for an additional fee. Our convenient online scheduling system allows you to schedule headshots right here on the site. If you have a specific need for a location, let us know, but most actors find our studio a convenient way to get the maximum number of looks in the allotted time.
